A Plague Tale: Innocence – At the start of the chapter, Hugo will break away after Amicia tells him that the noises he is hearing are probably frogs. Lucas comments that Hugo is better.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Keep walking forward. At some point, Amicia will ask Hugo where he is going. Look to thje top left part of the screen. There is herbarium 3: gladiolus. You will have to double back for it from further down. Keep following Hugo for now.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – A little bit further, you will find some Leather.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Over here, you can find some Rocks, just after crouching underneath a fallen tree.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Just after Amicia tells Hugo to drop the English shield he has picked up, you can take a sharp left to pick up some Rocks if you wish.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Keep going until this runs to a dead-end to pick up the rocks mentioned above. Double back again.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – After doubling back, go ahead a little bit further, then double back up here to get the herbarium mentioned before.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – On your way to the herbarium plant, you see this open chest. Take the Leather inside.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Finally, at the end of this rather long walkabout, you find Herbarium 3: Gladiolus. Now double back to go forward, you’ve picked up everything here that you can.

Cross the battlefield

A Plague Tale: Innocence – Not long after you rejoined the main path, you’ll see this gruesome scene. Yes, you’ll have to go through it… 🙁
A Plague Tale: Innocence – After stepping onto the battleground, keep right, and run along the foot of the hill. You’ll get to a Cord you can pick up.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Keep veering right, you will get here and Amicia and Lucas will talk about the horse here. Here is another Cord you can pick up as well as some Alcohol.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Just of the right of this screenshot is where Amicia and Lucas spoke about the horse, which has now exploded from the rat infestation. Ugh. See this chest? Open it, and take Sulphur and Rocks Then light the embers you see ahead with Ignifer and crawl underneath the fallen tree.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Here, at the lit embers, you can get some Sulphur and Alcohol. There is a haystack to the left of you in this picture. Light it with Ignifer and run quick to the next permanent light source.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – With the haystack behind you now, it has already burnt out, so very well done on getting to the permanent light source before becoming delicacy for the rats.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – At the next lighht source, you’ll see people. Not soldiers. Looters, You’ll get introduced soon enough!
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When you get to the next light source, one o the looters will say that they have company and need to get out of there.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Move on to the next light, and light the torch with Ignifer. Also pick up the Alcohol and Rocks here.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Move to the newly lit torch, and pick up the Rocks, Salpeter and Sulphur, if you have space in your inventory.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – From this point, move to this huge structure shown above.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Here you can see some wood, but you can’t get to it. Luckily for you, there is a way…
A Plague Tale: Innocence – The tip of this structure is alight with embers. Light it with Ignifer. Then Amicia and Lucas must pull it down so the fire can reach the twigs below, so that Hugo can go pick up a twig for you before you let go of the levers. Press E continuously to pull the levers so that the beam lowers down.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When the beam is lowered, press Q to get Hugo to fetch a twig.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Light the twig in this fire pit, then crouch over to the light source in the distance. You will be spotted by a guard. You’ll have to take out his lantern so that the rats can feast on him, or else you will be caught. Don’t shoot the lantern too early, or the rats will block your path over the bridge ahead. There are also you Rocks can pick up here.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Whenever rats are sufficiently distracted, you can often pick up some spoils from the guard they are devouring. In this case, I managed to pick up Alcohol. Be careful though – if you come too close, the rats will take you as well. You need to inch forward until the item you wish to take activates. Now go over the bridge.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Here, you will see a strange structure full of arrows. Be careful. There is a guard inside. Fire a rock at the shiny metal link that keeps the lid out. When the guard comes to investigate, shoot out his lantern to let the rats do what they do best, or simply hit him with a stone yourself. Now light the embers near the entrance of the structure.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Go into the structure and pick up all you can find there, including upstairs after climbing the ladder. Here you can find Rocks, Tools, Salpeter, Fabric, a Pot and Cord.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – At this point, your inventory should not yet be full of rare resources, so I’d skip this workbench if you do not have enough to upgrade the pocket now. The non-rare resources are plenty. You need to ensure that your pocket is upgraded as soon as possible, so that you can keep all the rare materials and not having to leave any behind due to a full inventory. This is important for getting 100% completion for all equipment upgrades (and the associated Steam achievement). First light the embers in the distance as you look out of the structure, then take a twig, light it, and move on through the rats.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – If you did not light the cart from the structure with Ignifer, light it now with your twig before the twig burns out. Then pick up the Pot and Rocks if you have inventory space. Grab on to the cart and navigate it towards the guard in the top center of the picture above, and when he notices you, let go of the cart (press the right mouse button) and sling him.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When you’ve taken out the guard with your sling, grab the cart again and push it forward. There is a collectible you need to pick up where the guard was.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Push the cart until you get to this chest where the guard was standing. There is some Cord and a Pot here as well as Curiosity 9: Wheat Flail.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Grab the cart again and push it back to where you came from, then turn it so that you can see that sneaky guard there near the flame behind the fence. Now move forward until he sees you, then shoot out his lantern. Rat cuisine! The fallen guard may or may not have something to pick up. Keep pushing the cart until its wheels get stuck in the mud.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Walk left and some guards will start talking. Sneak up behind them. Hugo will notice the torch you will need to go forward. When the guard with his back towards you starts walking to the other one, sneak behind him until you can grab the torch. Hugo and Lucas must stay behind. Press Z to make them stay. Be careful not to wander too far away or they will panic and attract attention.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Press Z to make Lucas and Hugo follow you. Now that you have a torch, explore the other side of the road, and you will see some Salpeter, and further ahead, you will see a set of barrels. On top of them you can pick up Cord, Fabric and Rocks.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Just past the barrels you will see this wall. Put your torch in the holder, and climb over.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Once up on the wall, shoot down the two corpses to attract the rats.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – With the rats distracted, light the embers with Ignifer, then keep left past the rats, and find Curiosity 10: Oliphant. Do not go over the wall into the structure before getting the curiosity. You’ll also get Leather, Sulphur and Rocks.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Climb into this structure and here is where you can get the chapter-specific trophy, Savior. A soldier will be begging for help. Grab the torch from the mounting spot, and go through the first opening. Mount your torch if you want to save the soldier to get the trophy. If not, then simply keep walking with your torch and the rats will devour him.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When you’re done there, grab your torch and move forward, and drop off the edge there. You will lose the torch.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Right after dropping the torch, keep left, and pick up some Tools and Sulphur. Then continue on your way.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Crouch here and approach the guard quietly. Amicia is worried that there is no way forward, but Lucas will teach you how to make Somnum. Craft one portion of Somnum, sneak up behind him, and interact with him while Somnum is the active item in your inventory. Let Hugo and Lucas stay behind for this.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Once the guard is having a little nap, pick up the Rocks and Alcohol, then move forward by lighting the torch ahead of you with Ignifer.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Move up to this machine. Here, you can pick up Rocks, a Pot, Fabric and Sulphur. Now ask Lucas to use the machine by pressing Q. When he lets go, run with the light towards the other side.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When Lucas lets go of the level, Hugo and Amicia must run to the other side quickly.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Light the torch on the other side of this wall, and let Hugo go and grab Amicia a twig. Take the Salpeter and Alcohol. Then let Hugo wait here, while Amicia makes a quick detour.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Light the twig, and go down the little area you’re standing on and move to your right as shown above. Go to the right around the little brick wall above.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Once around the little brick wall, light the fire, and pick up Gift 5: Ballastella. Take a twig behind you, light it, and make your way back to Hugo. There is nothing else here to collect. Once back at Hugo, ask him to collect another twig, then ask Lucas to operate the machine again. When the fire is swinging, make your way back to Lucas.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Now that you’re back on the other side with Lucas, and with a twig in your hand, you can now light it and move through the archway on your right in this picture to continue.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – With your twig, you can now reach the next lantern safely, but no dawdling!
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When you go slightly forward, part of the aqueduct will collapse to your right in the picture above. Take the path to the left here.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – At this area you will find a workbench, a chest with Rocks, Alcohol and Sulphur. I would recommend upgrading something here. Upgrade the item that uses some of the rare resources that you have the most of, to ensure that you do not have a full inventory. In this case, it should be cord, so upgrade Ammunition Bag. This allows you to hold up to 14 rocks. Do not upgrade more than necessary at this time, remember that you’re saving for the last pocket upgrade first.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Now light this haystack and runnnnnnnnn! Climb over the fallen tree trunk and into the light of the cart behind it. Now sing the chain holding the cart up, and stick close to the cart as it rolls to a stop near the aqueduct. There are some Rocks here if you need some.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – When the cart stops, move into the light in front of you, and you will see a new guard patrolling the area. Shoot his lantern. Be as merciless as you can be, because they will not spare your life, no Ma’am! Shoot down the chain holding the platform up so that the corpses fall down to light an area ahead of you. Also pick up the Alcohol and Sulphur.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Behind you is a lantern as well. Light it, so that you can pick up some Cord and a twig to allow you to move forward. No need to explorer further back – there is nothing else. Turn around with the twig, but only light it when you’re at the last light source.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – With your lit twig, move to the burning corpses you shot down. Then walk to the next light torch and climb over the little wall. There are twigs there, but you don’t need them. There is nothing else to explore.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Once over the wall, crouch forward to this little wooden fence. Wait for the pep talk to finish, then.
A Plague Tale: Innocence – Sneak past the guards to the right of you. There is nothing to collect here. When you get behind this guard, distract him with the helmets and a rock. Crouch past the guard to the next little wall you can jump over. Pick up the Leather here then jump over. You will meet Mélie and Arthur, and they will use your presence to try to escape from being captured. Amicia will turn back for Hugo when he falls. When Amica gets knocked out, Chapter 5: The Raven’s Spoils will end.
